A way to save GAS!!!

Now a days owning a car can be a very expensive luxury. Young drivers tend to pay higher interest rates on car loans due to a lack of credit as well as pay higher mandatory car insurance. With the uncertainty of gasoline prices, it is becoming less economical to use an automobile as daily transportation.

With the increase of financial responsibility from owning a vehicle, juggling a job, and maintaining a high GPA; students are obligated to spend more time working (and less time studying) just to keep up. Public transportation is an alternative students should consider to alleviate financial obligation in our current economic situation.

Professional Training Centers and Miami Dade Transit have teamed up to offer PTC students a “College Discount”. A full price Metro Pass can be a substantial savings. For a cost of $42.50, students may purchase a metro pass that will allow unlimited access to the Miami-Dade public transportation system for an entire month. Yes, that means that students can use both the bus and Metrorail services.

The Metro Pass can be purchased at the Office of Student Services (with a valid student identification card). In order to ensure that all students receive their bus pass on time, interested students must bring there funds no later than the 23rd of each month. Due to the ordering process, late orders will not be accepted. Students will be able to pick up their bus pass permits on the 27th of each month at the Office of Student Services.

For further information please contact the Office of Student Services at (305) 220-4120, ext 2601.
